The firm's principal, James M. Tilden, has been working in the insurance and employee benefits fields since 1978, after seven years as a junior high school teacher and an elementary and secondary school coach.
Mr. Tilden's educational background includes bachelors and masters degrees from Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire. In addition, as part of his ongoing professional development, Mr. Tilden has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) degree and the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) degree, both from The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He has also been licensed by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) as a registered representative in order to assist clients with variable annuity and life insurance products, as well as mutual fund decisions.
Mr. Tilden, a Chicago-area native, recently served as an elected trustee of the Village of Western Springs. He has also served on the boards of community-based not-for-profit organizations as well as various leadership roles within his local parish church. In 1999, he was named "The Man of the Year" in the Village of Western Springs, an honor that was bestowed largely because of his local civic and volunteer activities.
